Medicine
Medical cases from the minor to the most complex are diagnosed and treated with the appropriate diagnostic tests, hospitalization and nursing support. Our staff is trained to perform necessary diagnostic tests and treatments including chemotherapy when indicated
Internal Medicine
Preventative care and annual or bi-annual exams are intended to catch problems
early in the process or before they develop. Unfortunately problems can not always
be prevented. When your companion is not feeling well, our goal is to make them
as comfortable as possible while identifying the problem and treating them.
Being sick is stressful for your pet and their family and we are here to help you.
We encourage you to ask questions and to take an active role in their care.
Diagnostic Tests
Helping your pet begins with a thorough physical examination performed by
one of our doctors. All of the body systems will be examined and specialized
tests recommend if problems are identified. If you have questions during the exam,
please feel free to ask us. The following is a list of some of the more common
tests that may be discussed with you;
- Bloodwork
- Urinalysis
- x-Rays
- Blood pressure measurement
- Electrocardiogram (EKG)
- Eye Pressures, tear testing, corneal staining
- Fecal examination
- Ear smears
- Cultures
- Aspirates, tracheal washes
- Ultrasound
Treatment
Once the problem is identified, the next step is to start treatment.
We will discuss all available options with you and together come up with a
treatment plan. We are trained to diagnose and treat all diseases from ear
infections to cancer, and we have access to specialized care if necessary.
